Visual Stimulus
I plan to create a series of conceptual experiments to explore the idea of the unconscious or
subconscious. The pieces will alter the viewers sense of reality in a variety of ways. The first
aspect that I want to look into is the idea of categorizing because human beings have a need
to categorize everything we come into contact with. When something is unable to be
defined or categorized, human beings have an uneasy experience. I also want to explore
what major brands portray in relationship to reality. Nothing the media or brands produce
for the consumer is reality because everything is manipulated or false in order to sell and
make a profit. And the third thing that really interests me about the conscious and subconscious
are dreams and memories
